Aine Nakamura

Aine E. Nakamura is a singer, and movement, performance and theater artist. She creates transborder art of voice and body. Her recent solo performances include Under an Unnamed Flower, a site-specific performance, upon the invitation to the Venice Biennale at its 50th International Theatre Festival in 2022, and her performance project Circle hasu We plant seeds in the spring of mountains at Berliner Festspiele's 2022 Theatertreffen. She has presented works at The Gallatin Galleries, Berlin University of the Arts, The LAB, HfM Hanns Eisler Berlin, Errant Sound in collaboration with Brandon LaBelle, A Concert of Electronic Music in honor of Mario Davidovsky, Dias de Música Electroacústica, New York City Electroacoustic Music Festival performed with Madeleine Shapiro, October New Music Festival with MikroEnsemblen, and Abrons Arts Center with the International Contemporary Ensemble. Awardee of the Fulbright Fellowship (Berlin 2021-2022), The Leo Bronstein Homage Award from NYU, and Honorable Mention Award for the 2020 Pauline Oliveros New Genre Prize. Nakamura has given workshops and lectures at Berliner Festspiele, Humboldt University of Berlin, University of Pittsburgh, McGill Schulich School of Music, and Meiji University. She is a Ph.D. fellow at UC Berkeley.
