Formerly known as the HKUSTSU Wind Ensemble which was first founded in 1993, the University Philharmonic Orchestra, HKUSTSU is run by HKUST student volunteers.Our main aim is to nourish a team of musicians with both a sense of music and skills while fostering other university students and creating an atmosphere of music in university life.

For the past years, we have been invited to perform in various functions, such as the Outreach Day in HKUST, independent clubs’ orientation camps, banquets, inauguration ceremonies, the Music Gallery in CUHK and the anniversary of the Medical Association. Through our enjoyable practices and performances, members will gain a lot in terms of knowledge, stage experience and friendship.

In 2009 Spring Semester, we were very grateful to have a Joint-University concert with The Hong Kong Polytechnic University. We look forward to partnering with one other again. The greatest fun in music is to play it together. We love music!
